Say “Yes” to a clean and green estate, well-managed with a high level of efficiency and cost effectiveness, that can be sustained for you and your children for the years to come.
That is the target of the West Coast Town Council (WCTC). Joining hands with another 14 PAP Town Councils to form the Action for Green Towns (AGT) initiative, AGT will collaborate with residents and sustainability experts to make every estate zero-waste, energy efficient, and greener by 2025.
Under the initiative, each Town Council will have a Sustainability Champion. West Coast’s Champion is Ms Rachel Ong, West Coast GRC MP (Telok Blangah). She will lead WCTC to focus on a “3+1 Pillars” programme-Zero Waste, Energy Efficiency, Greener Environment, and Education. The Education pillar aims to engage and educate residents on anything sustainability related.
The sustainability effort, said Ms Ong, will benefit West Coast Town’s residents, businesses, and other stakeholders as there will be more greenery, better service operations, and reduced waste. “By working with the Town Council, we hope to make West Coast our best home, together!”
